TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital is a public tertiary-level Class A cardiovascular specialty hospital and cardiovascular research institute invested and built by the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. The hospital is equipped with 500 beds and is capable of performing a full range of cardiovascular surgeries, from routine cardiovascular operations to heart transplants, as well as various cardiovascular interventional procedures.
The hospital has performed cardiac surgery and interventional treatments for 300,000 patients to date, successfully completing more than 10 heart transplants, including one long-term surviving heart-kidney combined transplant and one high-difficulty second heart transplant. They have developed the third-generation artificial heart, known as the "HeartCon," which possesses full intellectual property rights and has saved the lives of over 200 patients with heart failure. The hospital has also provided free surgical assistance to 16,000 orphaned and impoverished children with congenital heart disease and established an "Air 120" rescue system, utilizing helicopters to transport and rescue more than 30 patients.
